Author:1st Lieutenant Kayla Haas is the Communication Strategy and Operations (COMMSTRAT) Director at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C. She is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, where she studied Mathematics. She previously served as a COMMSTRAT Officer at 2d Marine Division, where she deployed with Marine Rotational Force-Europe 21.1 and Joint Task Force-Haiti. When she’s away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, painting, and listening to true-crime podcasts.
